Event Details

From Seed To Plant: Would you like to start your own vegetables and flowers from seed? The next growing season is almost here and now is the time to start those seeds. This talk and “Show and Tell” by Master Gardeners Janet Waagen and Sue Zaslaw will include a step-by-step guide to growing plants from seed. They’ll cover everything from interpreting the seed packet, to choosing the right container, to introducing your precious seedlings to the outdoors (called “hardening off”), to direct seeding outdoors. Sue will show her very interesting collection of seed-starting kits and supplies. We will also have an informal seed and plant exchange at the end of the meeting so if you have any extra seeds you’ve saved or plants you’d like to send to a good home do bring them. The UC Master Gardeners of Santa Clara County host talks on gardening topics at the Berryessa Branch Library every 3rd Saturday of the month.
