There are many plants that thrive in the dry, warm summer conditions of Santa Clara Country. Learn how to choose right plant for the right location. We will demonstrate how to prepare the soil for planting and share the best irrigation practices for these plants. You'll learn which of these plants are best for birds, bees and butterflies. We'll take a tour of our demonstration garden, which has many of the plants we will discuss.
Bring water and wear layered clothing, a hat, and closed-toed shoes that can get wet, as the class will be held outdoors in our Pavilion.
Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow time to park and sign in. The class will be canceled in the event of heavy rain.
Please note: the park charges $6.00 for parking, or you can park on Chynoweth Avenue near Vauxhall Circle for free.
